Dzon Kanstbl
Kanstbl je bio jedan od najvecih slikara pejzaza i jedan od veoma poznatih Engleskih umjetnika koji je imao vazan uticaj na Evropsko slikarstvo. On je rodjen u Istocnom Berholtu, u Sufolku, i bio je sin uspjesnog mlinara. Njegov otac nije odobravao slikanje kao profesiju i Kanstbl je kao djecak radio gotovo u tajnosti. Kako je bio uzrok svadja, on se slozio da radi u ocevom mlinu godinu dana. Ali njegova ljubav za slikanjem je bila toliko velika da je prijatelj nagovorio njegovog oca da ga posalje u London da studira. 1799. on se upisao u Kraljevsku Akademsku skolu u Londonu i poceo da radi kao slikar. Na pocetku je pokusao da zivi od slikanja portreta, ali nije imao uspjeha u tome. Kasnije se okrenuo slikanju pejzaza.
Kanstbl je prezirao konvencije slikanja pejzaza njegovog vremena. On nije volio modu slikanja u zlatno-kafenim bojama u imitaciji starih majstora. On je vidio divne zelene boje u prirodi i slikao ih je onako kako ih je vidio. On je stavljao u svoje pejzaze stoku, konje i ljude koji tamo rade, i rosu, vlagu, cvijece i svjezinu sela. "Okolina me je navela da potrazim kisobran", rekao je drugi umjetnik.
1824. nekoliko njegovih vaznih slika, ukljucujuci "The Hay Wain", su bile izlozene u Louvru i one su imale neposredan i trajan uticaj na Francusko slikarstvo. U Engleskoj Kanstbl nikada nije dobio priznanje koje je zasluzio. Vecina njegovih slika i studija su bile u njegovom vlasnistvu, neprodate, kada je umro, oko 50 god. kasnije one su priznate kao veliko nacionalno blago.

Constable was one of the greatest landscape painters and one of the very few English artists who have had an important influence on European painting.he was born at East Berholt, in Suffolk,and was the son of a well-to-do miller.His father disapproved of painting as a profession and Constable as a boy worked almost secretly.Since he was tired of arguing, he agreed to work in his father's mill for a year.But his love of painting was so great that a friend persuaded his father to send him to London to study.In 1799 he entered the Royal Academy School in London and began to work as a painter.Henceforward he lived in London. At first he tried to make his living by painting portraits, but he had little success in this.Later he turned to painting landscapes.
Constable despised the conventions of landscape painting of his day.He dislike the fashion of painting in golden brown colours in imitation of the old masters.He saw the lovely greens in nature and painted them as he saw them.He put into his landscape the cattle, horses and people who would be working there, and the dew, the moisture, the bloom and freshness of the countryside."His landscapes made me call for my umbrella,"said another artist.
In 1824 several of his important pictures, including"The Hay Wain", were exhibited at the Louver and they had an immediate and lasting effect on French painting. In England Constable never received the recognition he deserved. Most of his paintings and studies were in his possession, unsold, when he died, thought 50 years later they were recognized as great national treasures.
