The climate of the british isles is neither too hot nor too cold,british winters are mild and summers are cool because the winds that blow from the atlantic ocean are mild in winter and cool in summer, but of course in different parts of the country the climate varies.it is sometimes said that mountains make their own wether. Tough the mountains in great britain the cheviot hills,the pennines,and the welsh mountains are not very high,they influence the climate of the country . thusit rains more often in the western half where mountains lie near the west coast, the eastern part that is on the other side of the mountains and farther from the ocean is the driest. In fact the climate of great britain is so changeable that britain is said to have no climate but only weather. Perhaps this is why english people so often talk about the sether. You can often hear them say whats the wether like today? Is it warm or cold is it wet or dry cloudy sunny windy or fine
The wether in great britain cannot be forecast with certainty even for 24 hours. Nevertheless wewe may say that june is one of the dries and sunniest months. July and augst are the warmest and yet the wettest summer months. It is warm and dry in sepmtember and october,foggy in nowember and stormy in december. If often snows in january which is the coldest mounth, in southern parts,however,the snow melts as it falls or soon after.
It is interesting to rremember that english people learned some kinds od sport from other nations skating and skiing, for thes sports british mild winters are seldom suitable so they have to construct artifical ice-rinks or go abroad. Klima britanskih ostrva nije previse vruca ni previse hladna, britanske zime su blage a ljeta hladna zbog vjetrova koji duvaju sa atlanskog okeana koji su blagi u zimu a hladni u ljeto. Ali naravno u razlicitim djelovima zemlje klima varira. nekad se kaze da planine prave svoje sopstveno vrijeme. Iako planine u velikoj britaniji cheviot brda,penines i wlske planine nisu mnogo visoke uticu na klimu ove drzave. Zato su padavine cesto vise u zapadnoj polovini gdje se nalaze planine pored zapadne obale. Istocni dio tj.sa druge strane planina je udaljen od okeana pa je najsuvlji. U stavir klima velike britanije je toliko promjenjiva da se kaze da britanije nema klimu nego samo vrijeme. Mozda upravo zbog toga britanci stalno pricaju o vremenu. Cesto ih mozete cuti da kazu kakvo je vrijeme danas je li toplo ili hladno, je li vlazno ili suvo,oblacno,suncano,vjetrovito ili lijepo. Vrijeme u velikoj britaniji se ne moze se prognozirati sa sigurnoscu ni za 24 sata. Ipak mozemo reci da je jun najsuvlji i najsuncaniji mjesec, jili i avgust su najtopliji ali ipak najvlazniji ljetni mjesec. Toplo i suvo je u semptembru i oktobru ,maglovito u novembru,i vjetrovito u decembru,. Cesto pada snijeg u januaru koji je najhladniji mjesec, medjutim u juznim djelovima snijeg se topi kako pada. Interesantno je da su englezi naucili neke vrste sporta od drugih naroda klizanje i skijanje. Za ove sportove britanske blage zime nisu bas pogodne pa moraju da prave vjestacka klizalista ili da idu iza granice. Sa druge strane britanske ostrva su pogodna za takve vrste sportova kao sto su konjske trke,trke pasa,veslanje,auto trke,fudbal,tenis,kriket,i golf koji su veoma popularni tamo.
